Lost & Missing Marriage Records

In October 1902, the Allen County Courthouse suffered a fire that destroyed all the Marriage Certificates, Marriage Bonds and Marriage Licenses from 1815-1902. What did survive is a partial Marriage Register where the presiding official recorded the event. The existing Marriages were documented and published by Miss Ona Willoughby and Mr. Erskine Garrison in years past, as well as recorded in some Vital Records prior to 1903.

This project is an effort to record marriages not found in the previous mentioned documents, but have been located in Newspapers, Bible Records, Church Records, etc. If you have marriage information to submit, that is not previously recorded in the existing marriage records, we encourage the sharing of that information. This will be an ongoing project with your help. Please contribute your record by sending an email to: Sharon Tabor with the subject: Lost Records.
