HATLER, Michael Virginia S 31117

Allen county, Ky. Court. 17 Sept. 1832. MICHAEL HATLER aged 82 deposes that he enlisted in 1778 in Culpepper County, Va. as substitute for JOHN NORMAN at the residence of his father SEBASTIAN HATLER, with ensign RICHARD HICKMAN's militia company and later was drafted after which service of 3 months, he moved with his father to neighborhood of Abington in Southwest Virginia.

Was born 1760 in Maryland near Baltomore.

PHILIP HATLER of Allen County, brother of said MICHAEL HATLER, confirms the several tours sworn in the above declaration.

ZADOCK B. THACKSTON and PEYTON WELCH, both clergyman, certify to the age and character of MICHAEL HATLER.

Covering Jacket: Michael Hatler, Allen County, Kentucky, Pvt. Company Ensign Hickman, regiment of Col. Campbell, Va. Line. 6 months, 14 days. Inscribed on Ky. roll at $21.55 per year to begin 4 March 1831. Certificate of Pension issued 15 July 1833.
